Coastal storm this week: how to prepare

High winds and heavy rain are forecast. Secure balconies, keep drains clear and know the emergency number.

Forecasters expect strong winds and heavy rain. Please bring in anything on balconies and patios, keep a flashlight and medicines ready, and do not use a stove or oven to heat your home.

If you lose heat or power, or water comes in, call (973) 555-0199. If you smell gas or see downed wires, leave the area and call 911.

Maple Court residents who need help evacuating should make sure the property office has them on the assistance list.
